Hey everyone, I’m really sorry to say this but i have been waaaaay too addicted to tumblr. Every day, the first thing i do is go on tumblr. The second thing I do is eat while I scroll through my dash. And then at school, i’m basically blogging and not doing any work, and getting tons and tons of homework because i’m not doing work at school. As you can see, it’s getting quite out of hand.

Lately I’ve been trying to convince myself that I should delete my blog, but I’ve convinced myself otherwise, because who knows, I may want to come back to all of this. So what I’m trying to do, is wean myself off of internet use. This not only includes tumblr, but also facebook, youtube, instagram etc. hunkahunka-umbrella and alluricae have been really supportive of me and have helped me make this decision, because they both have a lot of self control, whereas I don’t have as much. I’m going to do the things I really enjoyed before I got tumblr, like reading, drawing (even though I suck at it but whatever), and playing the violin.

There are more reasons I want to quit tumblr. I’ve lost my parents trust, and with me being all secretive when I blog, and quickly closing the browser window when one of them comes to look at what I’m doing doesn’t help me regain it (if you didn’t know, my parents don’t know I have tumblr, and they would metaphorically slit my throat if they ever found out). Also, almost everything revolves around gaining followers for me, and I see it everywhere. There is joy when I find out that someone new wants to see my posts, but it shouldn’t be to the point where the majority of the enjoyment I get from this website is from that. Don’t get me wrong, I love every singe one of my followers (except the porn ones like why do you even follow me), and I’m so thankful you’ve been on this journey with me. But it is really unhealthy for me. The final reason is that I don’t get to do the things I used to love anymore, because my whole life revolves around tumblr. I used to be able to read absolutely anything like that *clicks fingers*, but now I can’t even get through the first chapter of sense and sensibility without checking tumblr.

I think the problem for me, is that I can’t find a balance between internet, and actual life (though I don’t have one but whatever). And I shouldn’t be sneaking around behind my parents’ backs either. I hope you guys understand that.

So what my plan is, to test myself, and see how long I can go without tumblr. I’ll probably be back within the week, but whatever. Every time I come back, I’m going to try and leave for a little bit longer. My queue will be running, which is tagged as ‘people learn to love their queue’.

I honestly had a really amazing experience here on tumblr (except for a few nasty anons but that’s okay) and I’m sad to go. But the cons of tumblr outweigh the pros for me. I don’t know how long I’m going to last, but I will. I’m going to schedule to repost this for 2-3 days, so the majority of my followers see it.

If you choose to unfollow, that’s totally fine. I won’t be active for that much longer.

Thank you for everything. Seriously. I love you all, and I hope the feeling is mutual. I hope everything is clear and you all understand.
